Doctor of sciences, professor, holder of several medals, the deputy academician-secretary of Division of chemistry and material sciences of RAS (1987-1991), scientific secretary of INEOS RAS (1971-1987), the head of the laboratory of polymerization processes of INEOS RAS (1988–1992).
Prof. Kurashev was a well-known expert in the field of heterochain polyamides. He had carried out the fundamental research for control of anion-activated polymerization and copolymerization of lactams. In particular, he had determined the mechanism and kinetics of such processes in the case various catalysts and monomers.
